As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in their campus and community. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them by hosting and participating in a number of different events.
The Epsilon Beta chapter of Sigma Kappa is proud of our strong involvement and leadership on campus. Once each semester, we host Sigma Kappaccino and Have A Nice Day. At both of these events, we set up a table in the library breezeway and hand out free baked goods. The events typically take place during midterms and finals week to give people a little boost to get through exams.
We also host an abundance of philanthropy events throughout the year open to students, faculty, staff, and the community. These events include Ultraviolet week activities (UV Volleyball, Sig Kap Flapjack, and King Of hearts), Kick in the Grass, Sketti Dinner, and the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's. We also participate in the Week Of Giving, where we give back to our local community and to our university staff.
Throughout the year we also host several different events for alumnae. This past semester we painted pumpkins with them, partnered with them for a philanthropy event through Kendra Scott, held an etiquette workshop with them, had a king cake tasting, and held a tea party at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility.
We also have sisterhood events, formals, and mixers.
